Starting Point: Benllech

Benllech is a popular seaside village located on the eastern coast of Anglesey, known for its sandy beach and scenic coastal views. It serves as an excellent starting point for your walk.

Route Overview

  • Distance: Approximately 2 miles (3.2 kilometers) one way.
  • Duration: Around 45 minutes to 1 hour one way, depending on your pace and how often you stop to enjoy the scenery.
  • Difficulty: Easy. The route is mostly flat and follows well-defined paths and roads.

Detailed Walk Description

  1. Starting at Benllech:

    • Begin your walk at Benllech Beach, where you can take in the views of the coastline and the surrounding area before setting off.
    • Head northeast along Beach Road, which runs parallel to the shoreline. This road offers beautiful views of the sea and the sandy beach.
  2. Following the Coastal Path:

    • After a short distance along Beach Road, you'll come to a junction where you can join the Anglesey Coastal Path.
    • Follow the signs for the Coastal Path as it leads you along the coastline towards Lligwy Beach. The path is well-marked and easy to follow.
  3. Passing Traeth Bychan:

    • As you walk along the Coastal Path, you'll pass by Traeth Bychan, a small sandy beach nestled between rocky outcrops.
    • Take a moment to explore Traeth Bychan and enjoy the tranquil atmosphere of this secluded spot.
  4. Continuing to Lligwy Beach:

    • Continue along the Coastal Path as it winds its way along the coastline towards Lligwy Beach.
    • The path offers stunning views of the sea and the surrounding countryside, with opportunities to spot seabirds and other wildlife along the way.
  5. Arriving at Lligwy Beach:
